Alliance for Living is the only HIV/AIDS service organization and resource center in southeastern Connecticut that also deals with homelessness and assists people dealing with substance use disorder.

The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) leads as a catalyst to enhance the quality of life, vibrancy, and vitality of the Greater Hartford region. CRCOG provides planning, programs, and services to its member municipalities and is the region’s designated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). CRCOG is a strong advocate for the region and regional solutions.

The Coalition on Diversity & Equity (CoDE) is a 501(c)3 nonpartisan, educational organization, serving the communities of Andover, Columbia, East Hampton, Hebron, and Marlborough. CoDE is led completely by volunteers, who are active members of their community. Our mission is to build more diverse, equitable and vibrant communities. Our goals include increasing community awareness and equal access to housing, education and jobs. 

The Commons Community Development Corporation was created to address need for affordable housing beginning in Hebron and eventually expanding to other communities within Connecticut. Currently, too many individuals and families, including those who work in high income towns with little affordable housing, cannot afford to live there. This includes young professionals, families and seniors. 

Community Foundation of Eastern CT brings people together to work towards a healthy, thriving, sustainable Eastern Connecticut with greater equity for all. They achieve this by collaborating with partners to put philanthropy into action to address the needs, rights and interests of our community.

The Department of Housing (DOH) strengthens and revitalizes communities by promoting affordable housing opportunities. DOH seeks to eliminate homelessness and to catalyze the creation and preservation of quality, affordable housing to meet the needs of all individuals and families statewide to ensure that Connecticut continues to be a great place to live and work.

Eastern Connecticut Housing Opportunities, Inc. (ECHO) is a Connecticut private, nonprofit corporation established with the mission of improving lives and strengthening communities in eastern Connecticut by providing equitable housing opportunities to individuals and families in the communities in which they work and wish to live.

The Friends of Fort Trumbull State Park facilitate access to Fort Trumbull State Park in New London, Connecticut. We have a stated mission to “bring to the visiting public the history of Fort Trumbull” and the surrounding area.

At Habitat for Humanity of Eastern Connecticut, we work with families and the community to build hope and homes. Through sweat equity, education, and partnership, households gain stability through affordable homeownership.

Hearing Youth Voices develops working class, Black and brown young people into courageous and skilled leaders capable of running issue-based campaigns, leading coalitions and alliances, and uniting us across our differences to build the power necessary to advance racial, economic, and gender justice.

Founded in May 2000, the Hispanic Alliance is a dynamic, innovative organization – bringing communities together through a broad range of initiatives and events;  providing higher education access and opportunity through a robust scholarship program;  empowering through leadership training and economic support;  advocating for health initiatives that promote equity; engaging our community through arts and cultural experiences.

The RiverCOG region is comprised of the seventeen member municipalities of Chester, Clinton, Cromwell, Deep River, Durham, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Killingworth, Lyme, Middlefield, Middletown, Old Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland and Westbrook. The Chief Elected/Executive Officials of each municipality sit on the RiverCOG board, which along with our two regional transit districts and chamber of commerce, serves as the region’s Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) policy board.

The Homeless Hospitality Center is a place of safety and welcome to adults facing homelessness in southeastern Connecticut. About 600 people will seek help this year. We welcome every individual as our guest at our shelter and Daytime Hospitality Center on State Pier Road in New London.

NECCOG is focused on achieving results for our member towns through regionalism — offering a range of voluntary — member initiated programs and services — depending on the collective and/or individual needs of our member towns.  Our regional approach to problem solving enables our member towns to achieve efficiencies and economies of scale that individually would be difficult to realize.
