Founded in 1879, Inspirica Inc. is one of the largest providers of housing and support services in the state of Connecticut and the largest in Fairfield County. By serving those most in need, including families, women, those living with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, and individuals coping with substance use disorders, Inspirica is dedicated to the betterment of the Fairfield County community.
The Institute of Global Homelessness (IGH) drives a global movement to end street homelessness. Our vision is a world where everyone has a home that offers security, safety, autonomy, and opportunity. Founded in 2014, IGH is the first organization to focus on homelessness as a global phenomenon with an emphasis on those who are living on the street or in emergency shelters. It is a partnership between DePaul University (Chicago, USA), and Depaul International (London, UK), which provides direct services for people experiencing homelessness in the UK, Ireland, Ukraine, Slovakia, Croatia, USA, and France. The IGH staff and Advisory Committee work with a broad network of world-class advisors, experts, and organizations — balancing geographies, cultures, and skills.

Since coming to Connecticut in 1984, LISC has invested more than $94 million in grants and loans. LISC works in cities including Bridgeport, Hartford, New Britain, New Haven, and Waterbury, helping local organizations develop affordable housing and create partnerships that strengthen neighborhoods by enhancing resident quality of life, expanding economic opportunity, and closing racial wealth, health, and opportunity gaps.
The Litchfield Hills Greenprint Collaborative is a nationally-recognized Regional Conservation Partnership of 30+ partners working in 28 Northwest Connecticut towns to conserve recreational open space, farmland, forest, and drinking water through strategic, collaborative action. Greenprint provides a forum for practice innovation that bridges geographic and municipal boundaries. It is sponsored by the Housatonic Valley Association, a tristate environmental nonprofit conserving natural character and environmental health within the 2,000 square mile Housatonic River watershed.

Founded in 1983, the Naugatuck Valley Project is a network of 23 dues-paying congregations, local labor unions, housing cooperatives, and ethnic organizations. The NVP’s leaders and members work together to build power to affect systemic change for the improvement of their local communities. The NVP builds its power through intentional relationship building, leadership training, issue exploration, and direct-action activities.
Neighbors for Housing Southern CT is a grassroots group with members from New Haven and nearby towns, united to confront the region’s housing shortage. We advocate for specific projects and policies that make room for safe homes of all shapes and sizes therefore lowering costs, stewarding the environment, and supporting economic growth.
